LUKE

Luke, also known as Cool Hand Luke, Luke the Butt, Lucas, Lute, and Special Cat, died suddenly yesterday at the age of 10.


There are many things to be said about Luke, but none would capture what a special animal he was. To some he was just a cat, but to us he was a beloved pet, friend, and family member.


Luke loved everyone in this family and everyone who walked through our door. He was the only of our pets to come running when we got home, and you could make him purr just by saying his name from across the room. He came when you called for him, and he was the only cat I've ever known who loved water. There were many peculiar things about Luke; he was indeed a Special Cat, and we miss him terribly.

Luke took to baby Gus, and we were so looking forward to the days of whisker and tail pulling ahead. I got this moment on video just last week:




So long, little fella. As much as we gave you a hard time, we absolutely adored you, and our lives were made better by having you as our cat.

The video you've been waiting to see - August Paul as he met his Great-Grandmother Helen in Virginia. Our li'l boy fell in love with Grandmother instantly, and lay in her arms with intense interest while she talked to him.

"WALKING"

A short video of August Paul "walking" on my lap. He gets a little frightened of it at the end (I have got to learn how to edit these videos...!). Its really hard to catch these kind of moments on camera.

He likes to be up on his feet, that's for sure. We think he's in a hurry to start getting around. I understand a lot better now why Laura had a sore belly from his little kicks all those months - Gus has strong legs and a lot of trouble keeping them still!

ALMOST CRAWLING

After visiting Momma in her new office in Northeast and helping Poppa find some new plants for the garden, A,P. had a nice bath and spent a while working on his crawling.



He's got all the motions but he just can"t put them together. So frustrating for li'l baby Gus.

ITS BEEN A WHILE!

Its been a while since the last update here at Gusmonster - his Momma and Poppa have been all tied up with new jobs, with the finishing of old jobs, and some family business. Poppa's the one at home right now and its his fault there aren't any new posts this week - please all complaints to his office.





We have still had time for a lot of baby fun - August seems to especially like it when we're all together now that both his parents are working so much. In these little movies Momma is making delicious enchiladas for us.


And here he is at breakfasttime today - Poor guy has to spend all day on the kitchen table while we cook and eat!

A GRAND SHOW

It was accidentally discovered that August likes watching the dog eat, and while I probably shouldn't put the baby on the floor with the dog, who am I to deny him such entertainment?

EVENING

We had a busy day today, but the photos from our visit to Nana's are on the other computer, so for now, here's some shots from this evening, hanging out in the baby's room.
