ALMOST CRAWLING

After visiting Momma in her new office in Northeast and helping Poppa find some new plants for the garden, A,P. had a nice bath and spent a while working on his crawling.

He's got all the motions but he just can"t put them together. So frustrating for li'l baby Gus.

Time for a rest. You can watch this video while August catches some Z's.

YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY

NEW CANDY-STRIPED SLEEPER

We thought August looked especially adorable in it as we were getting him ready for bed.

PARADE

I took August and Irene to walk with me in the Northeast Parade last night, and I forgot the camera! The only proof I have that we were there was that both the baby:and the dog:
were exhausted when we got home. I was too, but unfortunately I don't have a photo of that. It was a long walk, and we were out in the sun from 5 until 9. August didn't fuss, didn't get hungry, and didn't wet his diaper the whole time. We sure have a good little boy! Irene gave up on walking halfway back to the car, so she had to be carried. I was grateful for help from friends, since I was wrangling baby and could not also wrangle dog. It was a fun night!

THANKS!

I'm sure if he could, A.P. would hank the nice people who have been helping him while his Poppa is sick - especially his Nana and Aunt Anna and his friend Emily. I appreciate the help so much - it make me so sad when we can't plan the funnest day in the world for him every morning.

And pretty soon that's just what we'll do.

ANOTHER SUNNY EVENING

August has been enjoying this beautiful weather. Here he is out in the evening sun, just taking it easy.

MORE OF THE SAME

These are from the same day of photos. If the sun had been out, I would use this first one as his official "3 month old" photo, but it's all shady. We'll try again this weekend, if we can get the weather (and the Gusmonster) to cooperate.

A.P. AND HIS BROWN BLANKET

Our little baby bear loves to sit on his soft brown blanket in the garden and watch the breezes rustle the leaves.
Momma took these pictures last week and she's been holding out on us

[Note to Auntie Anna and Nana: this is the picture I was trying to find to show to you this afternoon.] Lookit the little guy! Ain't he special!

SATURDAY MORNING

August surveyed the garden with Poppa,
Then came in to work with me to see my new office (we brought the new playmat that Nana made for us). Now we'll laze around this afternoon - both my boys are sleeping so I get a chance to knit!

ITS BEEN A WHILE!

Its been a while since the last update here at Gusmonster - his Momma and Poppa have been all tied up with new jobs, with the finishing of old jobs, and some family business. Poppa's the one at home right now and its his fault there aren't any new posts this week - please all complaints to his office.

We have still had time for a lot of baby fun - August seems to especially like it when we're all together now that both his parents are working so much. In these little movies Momma is making delicious enchiladas for us.

And here he is at breakfasttime today - Poor guy has to spend all day on the kitchen table while we cook and eat!

OH, THE PLACES WE GO

Gus and I are trying to make the best of this last week together before I have to go back to work. Today, we walked down 29th, looking at the trees:We returned books to the library, but it was too early for them to be open:
We waited for the bus on Lake street:
And really enjoyed the bus ride:
Especially the part where we crossed the river:
The bus ride made Gus a little sleepy:
And he was out by the time we got to midway:
He slept while I chose some new fabric (there were a lot of choices):
He woke back up while we walked back to Snelling and University:
Gus noted that it's a very busy intersection:
He appreciated the new bus stops that have been installed recently:
And chilled out on the bus ride home:
While I got to read my new book:
It was a fun adventure, and he was happy to be in the sling the whole time. I've started carrying him kangaroo style, which he likes very much. More people notice him and talk to him, and he generally just has a better view of the world. I'm sorry there isn't a photo of our return to the house, he started to get a little upset as we got near home, and my attempts to photograph him and the house failed completely. What a fun morning!

JEFF AND CARRIE'S WEDDING

Small baby, big bed.
Lake Superior, Poppa and Gus, and a Lake Superior Ale.
Lisa held A.P. at the wedding, and her sister Emily also held him.
He was very smiley that night.
This is his "sexy" baby pose.

And last, August is seen here held by two strange people who wandered into the wedding looking for free food and drinks.
