TRUCKS! GUYS! TREES!
When we got home from our morning adventures, there were guys! In our trees! With chainsaws! Gus was, as you can imagine, ecstatic. We sat on the porch eating chips and cheering each time the city workers cut down a particularly big limb, then we went inside and watched them load all the branches into the wood chipper.

Gus was glued to the window.

He even fogged up the glass.

(Don't tell Gus, but while he was watching the guys! trucks! trees! I let Nova play with one of his dinosaurs.)

We topped it all off with a batch of chocolate chip and pecan cookies. Guess who got to lick the spoon!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Gus got a turkey crown.

An he learned how to play a new instrument.
Everyone was pretty tired after dinner,
and Gus finished the day by working on his entry into the turkey coloring contest for the Star Tribune. We think he's going to win the 4 and under set, don't you?
Happy Thanksgiving!

BONFIRE

Last night was probably one of the last warm nights of 2009. We had a fire in the backyard to commemorate it.

Nova helped by falling asleep watching the fire.
Gus helped by continually emptying the watering can that we keep for safety.

HAIRCUT
Gus was looking a little shaggy this week:

So we trimmed his hair (not much, I promise)

It's hard to get my little guy to sit still for anything, let alone something fun that involves scissors. Needless to say, this is not a very straight haircut. It's a slight improvement, though. You can't have everything!
