When we were at playschool on Wednesday, the teacher asked the kids, "Do we eat chocolate cake for breakfast?" I think she was expecting a resounding "No!" Instead, Gus stood up and said, "I eat brownies!"


We thought he was joking, but I just came across these photos. Maybe he was telling the truth! Only Poppa could be to blame.....

She may only leave them in for 5 minutes (and I couldn't get a photo of her smiling that wasn't blurry - so you get the frown) but Nova's hair is finally long enough for pigtails! Yay!

MOMMA'S HELPERS

These two know that Poppa will let them help cook dinner, but momma is rarely so accommodating. I'm trying to let them help more often.

We love make believe. And if momma still refuses to go find that batman costume, apparently he'll make one himself.

BIG GIRL BED

Gus got booted out of the crib the month before Nova was born, when he was 14 mos. I think he was still so little that the move to a big kid bed was a non-issue. For Nova, though, we've been talking a lot about taking the crib apart and moving the mattress down so she can get in and out by herself. On New Years Eve, we did exactly that.




Nova wasn't exactly sure about it.




She warmed up later, and there was much jumping and celebrating. So far she still cries when she wants to get up, she doesn't quite get that she can get in and out.
