THINGS

Things Gus has learned in the last two weeks:
How to say "Uh-Oh!"
How to say "No, no no"
How to open the dishwasher
How to spin around in a circle
How to say "Papa"
How to go down stairs
It's been a busy few weeks!

FUN DAY
Gus and I had a fun day today. We had to be at an event for my work. There was a big playground:

There were speakers:

There were people:

Look! The mayor!
There was also a giant castle for the big kids to jump in. Gus wanted to go in, but he was too little.
Instead, we found out how it works!
It was a fun day!

LONG HAIR
Gus's hair has finally started to grown in. He's got little tiny curls at the base of his neck.

I think it's adorable, but someone asked me how old my "little girl" was the other day. Don't make me cut that baby hair yet!

SWIMMING WITH COUSIN JONAH

Here's a photo from a few weeks ago when Gus got to go swimming with his cousin. They had a great time in the pool - but I love that Jonah has his dad's shoes on in this one!

RUNNING ERRANDS
Yesterday, Gus and I had some errands to run. Gus brought his hammer.

We waited at the bus stop,

Gus showed the drivers of Lake Street his hammer,

and then we got on the bus!
We went to uptown to do our errands,
And stopped to get a bagel on the way home.

It was a beautiful, sunny, spring day. I wonder what we'll do today?

SWEEPING
Gus likes sweeping.

And shoveling, and raking, and really anything that involves an implement on a stick that is way too big for him. We get him his own stuff, more his size, but he only wants the real deal.
Now, if only we could teach him how to vaccuum!

FACES
Taking Gus's picture isn't the simple task it used to be. If I can get him to stop moving at all, he usually makes a face like this one:

Otherwise I get his silly, squinty grin. Which is cute - don't get me wrong. But he's giggling, so he's blurry, and it's just sort of a funny look for him. What do you think?

BABY YOU CAN DRIVE MY CAR

Today Gus helped me with more spring cleaning in the garden - he really liked the hydrangea flowers, so when I clipped them I let him keep them. He's also very interested in all my garden stakes and trellises and things like that.
Then we took a break to drive around in his little car and pick up chicks.
NEW COMPUTER

The new computer has arrived, but Momma & Poppa are under the weather this weekend. Luckily Gus (and his sock monkey) are having some fun playing with photo booth. A camera right on the front of the new laptop!

WHAT, NO PICTURES?
No pictures. We're waiting for delivery of our NEW COMPUTER, hopefully late this week. The Gusmonster has been doing so many adorable things, though -- and he's got a couple great new toys thanks to one of the kids from Poppa's classroom, including a little tool box with wooden screws, bolts and tools. It distracted him from the real tool box for nearly ten minutes.
