A TYPICAL SUNDAY EVENING

GUS : Poppa, this squash is scrumptious.

POPPA : Thank you, son. Its from the garden.

GUS : Ah, yes, of course. An Early Prolific Straightneck, yes?

POPPA : Why yes indeed. What a fine variety. We've had quite a crop this year.

GUS : Nonetheless, I shall abstain from selecting squash of the year until I have tasted the Butternuts and Acorns.

POPPA : Don't forget the pumpkins!

GUS : Oh, how could I?

POPPA : Quick, finish your raspberry tart - I hear Momma coming!

WHILE I WAS FIXING BREAKFAST....

August was making his getaway:


He's gone from knees to feet in the last few days, but still can't move forward. He's got the leg power, now just has to figure out the hands!

THE RABBIT

The rabbit rattle was a gift for Gus before he was born. It's soft and white with pink ears and pink hands.


He's really taken to chewing on it recently.


It's pretty darn cute.

BUSY AS A BEE

August has had another busy week. He's been helping Momma with her knitting.


He went to a swimming party to celebrate Juna's birthday.

Happy #2 Juna!



He didn't take to the water much, but it was a little cold.



And yesterday to celebrate Momma & Poppa's anniversary, he went for a long walk around Lake Calhoun!

CHANGING SO FAST

Four months ago, August looked like this:


He had dark hair and dark blue eyes. He spent a lot of time staring, and not too much time smiling.

Now he has those bright blue eyes, lighter hair, and he spends almost all of his time smiling. He looks like a totally different boy to me. I had no idea he would change so fast!

Wishing he could crawl, so that little black and white dog would play with him instead of just stealing his blanket.


Wishing we would just feed him already.


Wishing we would fill up the pool and let him splash his little toes.
